Illwaco Washington, across from Astoria, Oregon.
this used to be the other half of the fishing industry here on the Mouth of the Columbia River, the other being Astoria 1 mile to the right of this shot.the water here now is much to shallow for the river traffic any more..but at high tide my boat can come here... i have 3' of draft...but never to be attempted at low tide.

as far as my perspective on this photo goes..i tried to line up the pilings with the bank on the other side of the river, and split the frame in half also in the same shot(no cropping)

I love the fact that this picture is in black and white! It seems so beautiful.. This seems like a place you'd feed seagulls! I also love the way the rocks are in this picture its excellent! Feel sorry for the trees though that had to be cut down at some point! I do kinda wish it had a bit more mountain in it and such though! Plus a colored version would honestly be nice to see the contrast! I did love the picture other then that!! just think there should be both a colored and a black/white version!!!

Who am I to critique a photo right? I love how you lined up the posts. It brings the eye completely through the photo to the horizon. Great use of land to sea, it's perfectly composed!
The tones of the water ripples and posts are perfect. The only thing I can find to change, would be the clouds. Some of the highlights are a little blown out. Maybe a grad ND filter ? I also know you can use some PS filters to change this as a post production but you have been shooting digital and film longer then I have been alive.. ha ha not that long but I am sure you know of more procedures that I. Over all -great photo!!
